I work at the intersection of natural language understanding (NLU), proof-of-concept development, hybrid AI system design, and software engineering. Extracting value from enterprise data, I apply and improve data-driven machine learning through natural language processing (NLP) techniques and technologies. My extensive research experience has entailed building, evaluating, and integrating novel data-driven applications with emphasis on NLP and NLU solutions (semantic parsing, co-reference resolution, named entity recognition, relation extraction, and more). At ORBCOMM, I developed an end-to-end MVP dialog agent for customers to query their real-time sensor data, supporting questions like "show me all the refrigerated trucks within 100 miles of Arlington that have not thrown an alarm in the last 24 hours", and "what locations with more than 5 assets have active weather alarms?" I built the custom natural language understanding “chat” component for Elemental Cognition’s first consumer-facing travel application (https://ec.ai/case-travel/#rtw) from scratch. As part of Elemental Cognition's Solutions team, I explored novel data-driven solutions for clients in finance and sales. I am an experienced designer and developer of software frameworks for technology transition of research prototypes. As part of the Cognitive Computation Group at the University of Illinois and the University of Pennsylvania, I led the design and development of an integrated suite of research prototypes of natural language processing tools.
